Presentations & Publications I've had the honor of making
My thesis investigated the viability of a two-factor drug delivery system to improve post-surgical tendon reconstruction outcomes. Utilizing microspheres to deliver compounds necessary for the phases of healing at key time points was the main goal and challenge of the project. Working on my thesis was rewarding in so many ways. It not only enabled me to achieve my goal of obtaining my Master of Science degree, but it also led to me having the opportunity to present a poster at a conference for the first time (which was even more special as it was in my home state), as well as to have work published in a journal.

In April 2023, while gathering data for my thesis, I submitted an abstract to present a poster at the Society For Biomaterials' annual meeting. That year it happened to be in San Diego, California which made my first experience presenting research at a conference in a city not too far from where I grew up. It was an incredible experience to interact with so many fellow researchers in the space, learn from them, and see the exciting progress in the space.

In June of 2024, shortly after completing receiving my Master's, I received notice that my methods letter submission to The Materials Research Society's MRS Communications was accepted meaning a paper that I am listed as the first author on would be published. This was a massive achievement and very significant as it meant that in just two years I was able to collect enough data and, more importantly, gain enough knowledge about the topic to draw conclusions based on that data. The process was challenging but ultimately rewarding and still feels surreal. I will forever be thankful to my advisor, Dr. Taylor, for all the support getting me there.
